Athena Day 2

Day 2 of the Athena's Playbook program is an upper body workout that involves a series of plank rotations and punches (seriously, am I really going to have to "punch" the air?) Not only that, but I despise planks. We'll see if my butt gets as whooped as yesterday :P

UPDATE: OK, so here's the story about how Day 2 of my program went...
I got home and was so exhausted that I could barely think straight, let alone keep myself from falling asleep. My husband also had the other half of his workout to do, so we did our thang in separate rooms (we get embarrassed if the other person watches). So, I do the workout, which consisted of 16 plank rotations and 80 punches. After I got done, I thought to myself, "wow, that was actually really easy. I didn't even break a sweat!", and even questioned it asking myself if that was really all there was to it for today's workout. I walked over to our bedroom where my husband was working out, and asked if I could pop in to take a shower because I was already done, to which he replied, "there's no way you're already done." And I said, "yea I am. All I had to do was plank rotations and punches." He was still in disbelief, and later when he came up to me after his workout, he questioned me again, saying that there was no way I could have done it that fast because he had less to do than me and was still going when I came to tell him I was finished. He then said, "did you do all 3 sets?" And then I had that "oh shit!" moment in my mind, but I had to keep my cool, so I said, "yea, I did all 3!" knowing damn well somehow in my fog of exhaustion I totally forgot to do the other 2 sets! I was too proud to admit it so I kept up my front. I still had to do some convincing, some of which included showing my husband I knew how to do a plank rotation, because he didn't believe I knew how. I think he knows I am full of shit though, because later he texted me saying: "You're already falling off the rails. You're so annoying."
bahahaha
Day Two - Sort of down (not even half-way down)

30 Day Workout Program/ Athena Day 1

For the next 30 days, I will be doing workout routines from Darebee.com's Athena Playbook. My husband is actually the one who found this program for me. He knows if he left it up to me to find a workout routine, I'd never find one :P I like this one because it has a little bit of everything, though it mainly focuses on the lower body, which for me, fits my purposes. If you haven't checked out Darebee.com, I highly recommend it. If you're like me, you get really overwhelmed with trying to put together a workout routine/schedule on your own. Darebee has literally hundreds of different workouts to choose from, and several workout programs to follow, as well as daily challenges. If you're interested in building a better diet to go with your workout, they also have meal plans, recipes, and nutritional info on their site. Here is a link to the program I will be doing:   Athena's Playbook Below are examples of some of the workouts from the program (just click o...

Athena Day 3

Another morning where I can barely keep myself awake..starting off today with a honeybun for breakfast. At least I am drinking water (no, not from my jug. I left it at home again). Today's workout will focus on the lower body. You know what that means: squats and lunges. Ughhh not looking forward to it. Especially since my form sucks and I'm not even sure I'm doing the exercises right, therefore I question if I'm even getting the full benefit. God, why can't I just suck less. Update #1: So I finally got my Chick-fil-A today. Got a chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and a sweet tea. I realize that I need to start making healthier food choices or none of this stuff I'm going to be doing the remainder of the 28 days will matter. You can't just exercise once a day, eat like you have been all along, and expect anything to change. I've got to do better =/ We'll see what I decide to have for dinner tonight. Lastnight I had tomato and penne soup with a littl...

Fudge Shoppe Breakfast and Boobie Talk

Day 2 of my body wellness journey and already off to a swell start. I had two Keebler Elf fudge shoppe cookies this morning for "breakfast", and I'll have you know I'm about to eat the 3 that I packed in a sandwich baggy and brought along with me to work (don't judge me). Didn't bring a lumch with me today, so I am going to have to grab something. Also, I just need an excuse to get the fuck out of this stuffy office. I'm thinking Chick-fil-A. But alas, it is only 9:56AM and lunch period doesn't start until 11:30. Also forgot to bring my 1-liter water jug with me today, but I am still drinking water. We have a water cooler in the office. I'll just try to fill my little styrofoam cup up more than once today. I figure since this is going to be a blog about building a better body for myself, I may as well include my Noogling/Pueraria Mirifica progress as well. If you don't know what either of those things are, they are natural alternatives to ...
